Helipads, chandeliers, and more... bespoke superyachts with stunning design features

When it comes to superyachts, no request is too big. Renowned for their luxurious interiors and jaw-dropping design, here are some of the most incredible superyacht features – from a helipad that converts into an outdoor cinema, an overwater staircase, or glass-bottomed pool with its own waterfall….

Cosmos’ glass bottomed pool & helipad that becomes outdoor cinema

Heesen is currently building the largest, fastest, full-aluminium yacht in the world, Cosmos. Set to be a colossal 80m with a top speed of almost 30 knots she will be the shipyard’s largest yacht built to date and the fastest in her class, marking a succession of new technological firsts for the iconic Dutch shipyard – a thoroughbred racehorse and the next evolution of the Heesen breed.

Helipad / Outdoor cinema

One of the breath-taking features of Cosmos is the completely flushed foredeck that doubles as a helicopter landing area and a chic outdoor cinema.

Glass floor sunken pool

Another striking feature is its seven metre, sunken, glass bottom pool complete with a waterfall that plunges from the deck above.

Vida’s impressive wine display and floating staircase

Third in the yard’s successful 55m FDHF steel class, Vida features muscular exterior lines penned by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects and sophisticated interior décor with a soft natural palette by Be Design Associates. Her floor-to-ceiling windows providing uninterrupted views while flooding the interior with natural light.

Wine cellar

Among many of her stunning design features, Vida’s spectacular backlit onyx arch aft welcomes guests into the formal saloon on the main deck, with clever, tensioned wine-bottle holders serving as a cellar display for 21 bottles per side which each point like signposts to the welcoming seating area.

Floating staircase

More backlit ivory onyx is found in abundance in the statement staircase, which features floating steps that use alternating strips of fumé mirror and lacquered wood to form an incredibly intricate geometric design.

Lady Li’s Art Deco Chandelier

Heesen’s 50m full custom motor yacht Lady Li features bold Art Deco inspired interior design by Raymond Langton and is characterised by rich Macassar ebony, accented with stainless steel features to exude a luxurious, refined atmosphere with warming touches of backlit white onyx and soft tactile leather. A striking first impression for those stepping on board is created by the bespoke Art Deco style chandelier extending over two decks that is framed by the open-tread stairs.

With a top speed of 24.4 knots, she offers an extensive range of water toys, towables and inflatables for endless fun in the sun. But what sets her apart are her three separate pool areas, including an exceptional infinity-edged jacuzzi pool on the aft by the beach club, which offers unparalleled relaxation with panoramic views of the ocean. Watch your worries wash away in her wake.
