Antarctic adventures in the White Desert

There is definitely an epicurean way to do things. None more so than arriving by Gulfstream jet and staying at a unique camp in the Antarctic, for a carbon-neutral experience that is as luxurious as it is adventurous. In an environment regarded as one of the most inhospitable on our planet – the White Desert team ensures that the luxury you are accustomed to is on-hand!

White Desert the first luxury eco-camp in Antarctica opens up the interior of the Antarctic to guests to experience the incredible continent. White Desert has a Zero Impact policy and is the only operator in Antarctica to be 100% Carbon Neutral to ensure that all waste is removed from the continent.

The company was founded by Patrick and Robyn Woodhead. Having been part of the youngest and fastest team to ever reach the South Pole in 2002, Patrick went on to lead the first ever East to West traverse of Antarctica, covering 1850km in a total of 75 days.

Outside of the Polar World, he has been on many successful expeditions, summiting unclimbed mountains in Tibet and Kyrgyzstan, kayaking down uncharted rivers in the Amazon and being part of the team to set the fastest crossing of the Atlantic Ocean. In 2015 he broke the record for the fastest traverse of Greenland.

Robyn is the first South African to reach both the North and South Pole. In her role as a co-founder and director, she is responsible for creating experiences that would enable guests to truly understand the nature of Antarctica and protect the last great wilderness.

With only 12 guests on each departure, they tailor the experience to be as relaxed or as adrenalin-fuelled as you wish.
