A taste of Delhi - Hankies Restaurant

Anirudh Arora’s much-loved brand Hankies has three outposts - Marble Arch, Soho and Paddington.

Tapas meets traditional Delhi street food at Hankies, a stylish West End eatery inspired by the classic hand spun roti, cooked on a searing Roomali Tawa and delicately folded into the eponymous ‘hankies’. Hankies is an upscale take on authentic Indian street food, it evokes the heady scents and sultry evenings of the sub-continent in a distinguished setting.

Hankies is a casual Indian street food restaurant serving Indian Tapas and specialise in serving Roomali Roti. A classic Indian roti which is hand spun to its thin enough to read through, cooked on a burning hot Roomali Tawa and folded into ‘Hankies’.

Embracing the fuss-free and aromatic small plates of Delhi-style street food that are the hallmarks of head chef Anirudh Arora’s brand - and using the finest new season ingredients - starters offer such tempting choices as Crispy Gold Cod and Bhindi Bhel, Hankies’ perennially popular crispy rice puffs with okra, sweet chutney, onions and fresh coriander with a delicious sweet and sour “kick”.

These are followed by mains of the calibre of Tarragon Paneer 'Salan' (pardon peppers, walnuts, peppery tomato & curry leaf sauce), Banana Leaf Seabass and, of course, Ani’s legendary Butter Chicken.

Desserts will leave diners faced with an equally difficult choice between the mouth-watering Gulukand Kheer (caramelised mango, ginger honeycomb) and White Chocolate Cheesecake with a Raspberry Glaze.

Served in their warm, welcoming and luxurious surroundings, this exceptional menu is available Monday to Sunday from 12pm until 3pm and from 5pm to 6.30pm. The best news of all is that this incredible feast is priced at just £19.50 per person for two courses and £22.50 for three courses.

This set menu will also be available at Hankies’ shiny new sibling at Westbourne Terrace, priced at £18.50 for two courses and £21.50 for three.
