Neighbours of Bodiam Castle in Sussex, Oastbrook Estate is run by America Brewer.  In 2013, after returning to England following seven years in Hong Kong, she and her partner Nick bought the estate, which was formerly a Guinness hop farm.  America studied Viticulture & Winemaking at Plumpton College and has planted vineyards growing different varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meurnier, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc.  Her first release was Oastbrook’s 2014 Sparkling Rosé.

From spring through to late autumn, Oastbrook Estate is open for vineyard tours for visitors seeking a wine experience, which incorporates a tasting of the wines paired with local cheeses.

The boutique producer’s online shop invites wine lovers to browse and discover Oastbrook’s award-winning still and sparkling English wines. From single bottles to mixed tasting cases, delivery is nationwide so that you can send a little slice of Sussex around the UK to friends on Santa’s good list.

Owner and winemaker America Brewer’s first cuvée – the sophisticated Oastbrook Sparkling Rosé 2014 – is made from a blend of Pinot Noir and Auxerrois grapes.  This pretty pink wine is packed with expressive red fruit and aromas, revealing juicy cherry and blackberry flavours.  Shellfish, smoked salmon, parmesan cheese and white fish all match wonderfully with these Sussex bubbles, which make a spectacular treat to wrap up for Christmas – or even to save for yourself!
