Perfectly timed for the Festival of Lights, India’s celebrated premium single malt whisky brand has launched the latest chapter in its annual release collection, the Diwali Collector’s Edition 2026 Ruby Port Cask.

Crafted by Indri’s master blender, Surrinder Kumar, the 2026 collection, the fourth edition of the whisky, is produced in small batches and matured in Ruby Port casks sourced from Portugal.

Produced in the village of Indri, the release beautifully captures the magic of Diwali. The single malt is distilled in traditional copper pot stills, matured in the village’s subtropical climate, and bottled at a cask strength of 58.5% ABV.

Commenting on the Diwali Collector’s Edition 2026, Surrinder says, “The Diwali Collector’s Edition pushes the boundaries of Indian single malt, while staying true to what makes it distinctly Indri, and has been consistently recognised in international awards. This year's Ruby Port Cask expression offers a new dimension, drawing on the depth and character of Portugal's wine casks, shaped by the unique climate here at Indri. The 2026 release brings together whisky and artistry in a collector’s masterpiece celebrating heritage, craftsmanship and the spirit of modern India.”

The malt’s nose features black and red fruits, led by black cherries, blackberries and ripe plums, with layers of raisins and figs, paired with sweet notes of toffee and vanilla. On the palate, fruity notes and honey give way to richer flavours of almonds and hazelnuts, with hints of cinnamon, sweet spice, and oak lactones that give the malt a long, smooth, elegant finish.

Marking the edition, the packaging features artwork by Indian designer Krsnaa Mehta, which is inspired by India’s royal heritage and miniature paintings. At its heart is the iconic Marwari horse, symbolising the heritage behind this extra-special release.

Limited to just 18 individually numbered bottles in the UK, the release starts at £200 and is available from specialist whisky retailers, including Master of Malt, The Whisky Shop and The Whisky Exchange.
