Following unprecedented snowfall this October, the tiny historic mountain village of Le Miroir is an Alpine enclave offering the very best powder for a secluded ski adventure. With just 30 full-time residents, it’s perfect for powder-heads looking for a chic-yet-discreet winter holiday, with seven-world class resorts within a 30-minute radius, offering guests that chance to ski a different resort every day.
Why stay at one resort when you can ski seven? Adventure specialist, Eleven Experience offers guests who are itching to get back to the slopes and out of their comfort zone, an epic ski safari staying at off the beaten track sister properties Chalet Hibou and Chalet Pelerin, the ultimate adventure bases.
On the chalets’ doorstep are endless easy access piste and off-piste runs and the opportunity to hop across borders. Intrepid skiers will love the chalets’ proximity to three heli-ski bases which access over 40 runs ranging from 1,000-2,200 metres, offering 360-degree views, cold smoke powder, and wide, open runs – with up to two or three adrenaline-rush drops per day, or up to six for those truly looking to push their boundaries. Nordic skiing, ice climbing, snow shoeing, ski touring and cross-country skiing can also be arranged. Each group will have a dedicated Experience Manager on hand to tailor their ski experience and visit a different area of the mountain every day, with priority lift tickets and transport included in every stay.
After a day of ski safari, chalet buy-out guests also have the option to ski or snowshoe up to Eleven Experience’s private outpost, The Alpage – a private sheep herder’s hut turned mountain retreat for a unique après-ski. Sleeping 16 and 12 respectively, the chalets sit opposite each other and can easily be twinned to create one large space for bigger groups to enjoy as a whole. Whilst Chalet Pelerin boasts an indoor pool area and Chalet Hibou a fully equipped gym, both chalets have media rooms, an outdoor hot tub, Finnish sauna and steam room.
This winter season, guests of the chalets have even greater flexibility with three levels of service to choose from – a fully staffed property, Bed & Breakfast stay or Self-Catered chalet, according to their individual needs. Guests can also choose to arrive via a variety of private transport options, including by private plane or helicopter.
Winter rates at Chalet Hibou start from £6,542 per night for private chalet buyout based on 14 guests. Rates at Chalet Pelerin start from £4,597 per night for private chalet buyout based on 10 guests. Price includes private concierge, full guide service, all gear for activities, pre-arrival planning with an Eleven Experience Manager, all meals and house alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
