Pedro Campos was born in Spain in 1966. He originally trained as a restorer, after graduating from the Official School of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art in Madrid. His works are representations of everyday items; drinks cans, marbles, fruit glistening in plastic packaging, rendered in monumental sizes.
The sheer scale and crystalline sharpness of Campos’ works can’t help but transfix the viewer. His paintings are suffused with an inner glow and dynamism that belie his subject matters’ superficiality. Campos’ brings the mundane to its apotheosis, realised with a style that only a master can achieve.
